MOA INFO:

(MOA) Ministry Outdoor Adventures, Inc. is a Not For Profit Corporation
Registered in the State of Kansas.  Business Entity ID #: 8018020

The Purpose of Ministry Outdoor Adventures is to intentionally come alongside men of God serving as pastors or ministry staff members in order to help them stay ‘Zeroed’ on Jesus, by giving them opportunities to reconnect with God, and with
other pastors and ministry staff, in the great outdoors, and away from the demands of their ministry setting and context.  It is our Mission to facilitate the reclaiming of sacred time and space in the wild and open spaces of this world, where God has always desired to reach into the hearts of those He has called, in order to empower them to fully live out the purpose, passion and plan He has for them.

Our Vision as a ministry, is to find a way to completely empower and fund this ministry in order to be able to provide these opportunities for men of God serving as pastors or ministry staff with no cost to themselves.  Ideally, all they would have to do to be a part of one of our events is to clear their calendar for the event we will offer/host and then show up, and experience whatever event or outing has been scheduled.  These events will provide opportunities for pastors and ministry staff to shoot, hunt, fish, kayak, canoe, hike, camp, etc.  Ideally we will schedule four major events per year, as well as offer smaller or more individualized ministry outdoor adventures as opportunities arise or present themselves.

As a not for profit ministry, we are fully reliant upon the donations of organizations, businesses and individuals in order to both fund, and fulfill our purpose, mission and vision.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!

Sincerely,

Jeff Ochs & Rob Schmutz
The Ministry Outdoor Adventures Staff

A Gun-Dog's 23rd Psalm

I did a funeral a while back for an awesome man who was a dog trainer, a dog lover, a hunter and an outdoorsman.  In preparation for his funeral the Lord led me to re-work the 23rd Psalm... from the eyes of a hunting dog... Here is my best effort...

"My Master is my provider,

I trust Him to give me everything I need.

I lie down, and I rise up at the sound of His voice. He teaches me to seek, and to point the quail and the pheasant hidden in the fields, the meadows, and the hedgerows, and along the creeks where we venture.

My soul is most alive when He leads me along the well-worn paths that take us to all of our favorite places, and my heart soars at the rush of the wings as the birds rise from my point. Hope bursts from my chest at the sound of his shot, and it is for His Names sake that I proudly retrieve the birds that are downed and place them into His hands.

Even when I grow fearful, or weary, holding point in dense cover, seeing Him in my memory, His shotgun in hand, remembering the sounds of his approach through the grass, I am comforted, and I am strengthened, knowing that my Master will find me again, no matter where I may be.

Water, food, a warm bed, all this… He prepares for me, and He speaks my praises in the presence of lesser dogs and of their Masters. I am certain he is proud of me as he pats my head and says “Good boy…”

Great memories, of the best of times, that only a Gun Dog can know, will be treasured in my heart… and those memories will follow me all the days of my life, knowing that, in my Master’s Soul… I will dwell forever and ever. And He… by me… will never be forgotten."

Ministry Outdoor Adventures (MOA)

Ministry Outdoor Adventures (MOA), is a new ministry created with the intention of specifically helping men of God (in pastoral and ministry staff positions), stay "Zeroed" on Jesus, by giving them opportunities to re-connect with God, and with other pastors and ministry staff, in the great outdoors. It is our goal to facilitate the reclaiming of sacred time and space in the wild and open places of this world, where God has always desired to reach into the hearts of those He has called, in order to empower them to fully live out the purpose, passion and plan He has for them.

The Scriptures tell us that our adversary, the devil, specifically targets followers of Jesus, pastors, and ministry leaders, and that he "...prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour."(1 Peter 5:8) Likewise, the Scriptures also tell us that the enemy's strategy in our present day, is the same as it was in the first century: "I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered..."(Matthew 26:31/Zechariah 13:7). So, because "The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy...", Ministry Outdoor Adventures exists in order to serve ministers of the gospel in an intentional effort of seeking to be the hands and feet of Jesus as He says, "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

As men of God, in full-time, bi-vocational, or part-time ministry, as pastors or ministry staff, it is the vision of "MOA" to help guide you in a personal retreat or encounter with Jesus, so that He can lead you to "a lonely place..." (See: Mark 1:35 & Luke 5:16), where we believe He desires that you experience what it is like to be fully empowered by the God who "...searches to and fro throughout the earth, looking for someone He may strongly support, someone whose heart is completely His."(2 Chronicles 16:9) It is our desire to see you fully embrace and become, all that God has created and called you to be and become.

If you would be interested in scheduling, or being a part of an "MOA" ministry retreat, or if you would like more info, please comment below, or email either Rob at robwas271@gmail.com, or Jeff at Jeffrey.ochs@yahoo.com. Please note, these retreats and outings will primarily be centered around hunting, fishing, hiking, rafting/kayaking/canoeing, and camping. We can also customize events to accommodate both small groups and individuals, depending on the activity and the location.

We truly look forward to serving you in this way!
